The Young Diplomats Club of San Francisco

The Young Diplomats Club of San Francisco (YDC), launched April 15, 2009, is a private organization, endorsed by the former Dean of the San Francisco Consular Corps, The Honorable Marc LePage of Canada. The intent of the YDC is to serve as a networking social group with quarterly events, held in various and unique Bay Area settings. Participation is only open to all career San Francisco Consular Corps members, staff and spouses or partners.

The YDC, cofounded by Sherri Ferris, Protocol Professionals, Inc. and Russian Vice Consul, The Honorable Alexey Dobrynskiy, held its first exciting event at the Press Club in San Francisco, April 15, 2009. It was attended by career diplomats from more than thirty countries.

Raffael Comesaña was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. His law degrees were obtained at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (LL.B.) and Universidad de La Laguna (J.D.). For the Ministry of Finance, he held the position of County Auditor in Tenerife (5 years) and Regional Auditor in Malaga (14 years). In 2006 he was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to direct the Consular Section of Spain in Taipei, from which he moved to San Francisco on 2011 as a Chancellor at the Consulate General of Spain.

You and your spouse or partner are cordially invited to join your teammates for our 9th annual YDC Bowling Tournament.

November 16, 2017 - 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm
Newly remodeled Presidio Bowl, 93 Moraga Avenue at Montgomery, San Francisco, CA 94129

$30 cash/check paid at the door. All inclusive - includes bowling balls, shoes, hors d'oeuvres, buffet dinner, full open bar,
t-shirts, raffle drawing and great prizes.
First come first served. Sorry no children or outside guests. Spouses and partners welcome!

Registration forms from each consulate are requested before November 2, 2017. Kindly register only six members on a team but there is space for ten from each Consulate General and 24 Consulates. All guests must be pre-registered and are pre-assigned to bowling lanes. If you have less than six, we will help you to form a UN team. Please wear socks.

Parking: Per the Presidio Bowl, nearby parking is free after 6:00pm
No experience is necessary. This is our most popular event and is lots of fun!

Last year's team winners: Philippines, Korea, and China. Previous years' winners were Japan, Russia, Brazil, Germany, and the US with top bowlers from Brazil, France, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Netherlands, Philippines, UK, and Ukraine.
